Drills for Skills

What makes ProStar different from other Basketball Camp, experiences? ProStar exposes the Basketball player to an instructional learning environment. Our ``Drills for Skills`` method has been proven most effective. In order to achieve the maximum level of development, specific drills are used to promote optimal progression. ProStar`s philosophy is ``players make plays; plays don't make player's! ``

For players and their teams to execute to the best of their ability, ProStar integrates ``the    part into the whole`` teaching concept.
At ProStar, the ``part`` is taught before the ``whole``. Players are exposed to a ``teaching to learn`` environment and not a ``coaching to perform environment``. In order for the player to execute he/she must have a solid foundation of fundamentals in order to have the confidence to perform on the court. Too often, coaches have the best ``X & O`s`` for a given situation, but the individual and team struggle to perform and execute at a desired level.

There are three stages of the learning continuum that ProStar advocates.

1. Mental Process: The Objective is to understand what is required to perform the skill correctly.

2. Practice Process: The Basketball player refines the coordination and timing needed to perform and execute the skill.

3. Automatic Process: Here the player performs the skill automatically, and perfects the situation and mechanics of when the skill is to be performed.

Each program is specifically suited to the individual/group. The teach ``the part to the whole`` concept, develops a more comfortable and confident player/team able to produce like never before!
